Composer Kevin Sargent knew that he wanted to create something very special to evoke the atmosphere of the early 60s – so he did what cash-strapped composers never do: assembling a real jazz quartet and getting them to play, live, together like a band. After great viewing figures on Thursday and sustaining as a BBC Iplayer top hit all weekend – today is the day the We’ll Take Manhattan DVD goes on sale! Extras include the behind-the-scenes short – as featured on uber-trendy fashion and film site Nowness – and a full DVD film commentary from director John McKay and editor David Charap.

Karen Gillan and director John McKay are set to team up again on upcoming movie Not Another Happy Ending – where Karen plays JANE, a kooky young novelist with writers’ block, who may be possibly actually secretly in love with her hot-headed publisher TOM…

Slated for a spring shoot in Glasgow, also attached are Emun Elliot (Prometheus, Game of Thrones), Jessica Brown Findlay (Downton Abbey), Gary Lewis (Billy Elliot) and Anna Chancellor (The Hour).
