In Berlin this weekend We’ll Take Manhattan scooped the award for Best European Drama at the Prix Europa 2012. Congratulations and many thanks to all involved in making this special film the success it has become!
We’ll Take Manhattan nominated for Prix Europa
John McKay’s drama about the love affair between David Bailey and Jean Shrimpton has been nominated for a Prix Europa – the Emmy of Europe – in the Best Tv Drama category. The winners will be announced in Berlin on 27th October.

Extras include the behind-the-scenes short – as featured on uber-trendy fashion and film site Nowness – and a full DVD film commentary from director John McKay and editor David Charap.

Karen Gillan and director John McKay are set to team up again on upcoming movie Not Another Happy Ending – where Karen plays JANE, a kooky young novelist with writers’ block, who may be possibly actually secretly in love with her hot-headed publisher TOM…
Slated for a spring shoot in Glasgow, also attached are Emun Elliot (Prometheus, Game of Thrones), Jessica Brown Findlay (Downton Abbey), Gary Lewis (Billy Elliot) and Anna Chancellor (The Hour).

The first demo artwork for indie romantic comedy Not Another Happy Ending has been unveiled by producers Claire Mundell and Wendy Griffin of Synchronicity Films. Starring Karen Gillan, Emun Elliott and Jessica Brown Findlay, directed by John McKay, the movie is set for a spring 2012 shoot. More soon!

Vogue hosts a premiere screening for We’ll Take Manhattan
On Thursday 12th, Alex Schulman of Vogue UK kindly hosted a premiere screening of We’ll Take Manhattan at the Charlotte Street Hotel, London. As well as the lead cast, guests included models Lily Cole and Penelope Tree, fashion designer Matthew Williamson, and of course Bailey – who heckled me during my introductory speech!
